Roundup at Shiloh

To our surprise this afternoon we discovered that council has scheduled our Shiloh Roundup for New Scouts for August 19th at 6:30pm.  If you and your scout are available Tuesday evening, we ask that you plan to join us (in uniform) to help distribute information and share your love of scouting with new recruits!

Orientation/Returning Parents Meeting

Due to the Roundup on the 19th; our first scheduled event for the new scout year will be an Orientation/Returning Parents meeting on Tuesday, August 26th at 7pm at Christ Community Church.  All new and returning scouts and parents need to attend this important kick-off meeting.  There have been changes to our meeting time, dues and activity fee which will be reviewed at this meeting.

We have also been limited to 60 scouts for our facility, therefore, it is extremely important that if you are planning to remain active with our pack yet cannot attend this meeting you notify Anthony Irwin at cubmaster@pack97scouts.com prior to the meeting so we can include you in our total.  An activity will be planned to entertain scouts during the meeting.

District Program Launch

The District Program Launch will be at Belk Tonawanda Park on August 21, 2008 starting at 6:30pm.  This event is encouraged for all leaders, assistant leaders, and committee members and is also open for interested parents and adults.   They will be providing us with district calendars, program support materials, den leader kits, a hot dog cookout and much more.

Camping Committee/Trailer Organization

We are looking to get together at Ron Bain’s house on August 23rd @ about 1:00 PM to go through the trailer and would like to have the camping committee join in the fun. If you are interested in joining the camping committee and/or pitching in ideas on reorganization of the trailer, please email Ron Bain for additional details and directions.

Book/Supply Collection

As a community service project this year, we would like to have our scouts collect items to donate as a pack to Sun Valley Elementary and Shiloh Schools.  SVE has requested new & gently used books.  Shiloh is requesting Scissors, Crayons, Glue sticks, Markers, Colored pencils, Tissues, Hand sanitizer, Baby wipes, and/or Ziploc bags. Start collecting now – we’ll have drop off details soon!  J
