The Weekly Newsletter of Cub Scout Pack 97Shiloh : Thank you so much to everyone for your wonderful donations! An extra special thanks to those scouts and parents who presented the items last week. We were very proud of our boys and Mr. Henderson was great in taking the time to acknowledge them and their efforts. If you haven’t already noticed – there is also a Thank You to our Pack on one side of the Shiloh Sign! Sun Valley : Last chance to donate books is this week. All scouts and parents are encouraged to attend the Sun Valley PTO meeting to present these on this Thursday, October 2nd. They just changed the time of their meeting to 6pm and we are scheduled for mid-way down the agenda; estimated at 6:30pm. Please plan to have your scout join us in uniform at 6:15pm outside of the gym entrance (which is to the right of the main entrance) to Sun Valley Elementary. FYI – there is also a Pizza sale and book fair going on at the same time. Pack Meeting Just a reminder that this week is our first Pack Meeting. Our new boys have all been busy preparing to receive their Bobcat Badges and we have several awards to hand out already, too. Please plan to stay throughout the meeting and recognize all our scouts for everything they have accomplished. Also, don’t forget the $75 Pack Registration fee is due this week. All fees for camping also need to be paid. Last Chance to pick up boats for the Non-Scout race of the regatta – only $4 each!!!! Popcorn Sales Information Popcorn Sales start Wednesday, October 1 and will go through November 10. Brannen will be passing out popcorn information at the Pack meeting on the 30th. We will also be preparing sign up sheets in the next few weeks for our two group sale functions. Please remember, a lot of the activities we have planned for the year are based on profits from popcorn sales. It is really important we all “Do our Best”! Pack Camping Trip & Boat Regatta The Optimist Club Essentially, it is at the intersection of 601 and 74. Go one block to the shell station and turn onto the gravel farm road into the woods, literally right next door to the Shell Station. Scouts: Fees are covered for meals and one boat Adults/Children over 5: $10 for meals Children 2-5: $5 for meals Additional Boats: $4.00 each Please Note: Even if you are only coming out for the activities, the meal fee will still apply. Our schedule is listed below: 8am Plan to arrive and set up camp 10am Flag Ceremony & Pack Activities Begin Noon Lunch 1pm Begin Boat Regatta Registration 2pm Boat Regatta Free Time 6pm Dinner 8pm Campfire Program 10pm Lights Out 8am Continental Breakfast 9am Scout’s Own Service 10am Breakdown Camp Lowe’s Dollar General 300 Race We now have information available for Scout Night at the Dollar General 300 Race. This race is scheduled for Friday, October 10th. In years past, uniformed scouts and chaperones were allowed admittance simply by presenting a copy of a letter regarding the race. However, they have changed the policy this year. We must submit total number of scouts and chaperones ahead of time for our entire pack and they will then send us tickets for admission. Therefore, you must sign up on the form in the kitchen area in order to receive free tickets no later than next week, September 30th.
