Veteran’s Day Ceremony

Our den meeting on Tuesday will be replaced with our participation in the Veteran’s Day Ceremony on Wednesday at the Indian Trail VFW.  The scouts should be able to participate in the flag retiring ceremony.  Prior to their ceremony; we will also be having a dedication for the picnic area our Pack created at the VFW over the summer.  All scouts should arrive in FULL UNIFORM by 6:30pm for our picnic area dedication. At 7:00pm the Veteran’s Ceremony will begin.

A special Thank You also to all of you and any members of your family who are Veterans!  What a wonderful gift you have given to all of us and our families!

Committee Meeting

Since our regular den meetings are moved from this Tuesday we will be having a Committee Meeting during our regular den meeting slot.  We will be discussing among other things – our upcoming camping trip and menu; the Christmas Party, Christmas Presents and Christmas Parade.  Please plan to join us if you have any interest in participating in the planning and execution of these events and more!

Leaders Meeting

All leaders please plan to meet at Anthony Irwin’s house this Thursday at 7pm.  Please email him to let him know if you can attend or not and if you need directions.

Popcorn Wrap Up

Our popcorn sale has ended.  Thank you so much to everyone for your AWESOME sales this year!  We are still confirming a few items and still have some accounts to collect; however, we have commitments for just over $12,000!  We did also run out of all types of popcorn we pre-ordered except for 2 varieties. We will be returning the few unopened cases and ordering the missing product this week.  Any item marked on your receipt as a Backorder will be distributed at the den meeting on December 8th

I have not received a ship date for the prizes; however, we do usually receive them before Christmas.  We will distribute the Pack Prizes at the same time as the Trails End Prizes.  Once I know more information I will be sure to pass it on as I’m sure your scouts are very interested in receiving their hard earned prizes.  We also had 9 scouts qualify for the Marshmallow Bow for the Fill-It Up!  I’ve been told that Council is planning to send out postcards to the qualifying scouts next week with details on picking these up.  It is my hope that they will allow one of us to pick them up for the pack once they know the details so that everyone will not have to try to pick them up individually.  Once I know more on this, too, I’ll let you know!

Food Drive

Thank you to all the scouts and parents who participated in our Food Drive!  Mrs.Stein from the Second Harvest Food Bank could not stop thanking Anthony after we all left.  We made another great impression and even though the donations were less than last year; we still had a full trailer full of food to help out other families in our community.  If you collected food and made a donation outside of our event Saturday morning; please let me know so I can award your son with a Community Service Bead.

Cub Scout Advancement Day

Though this is not a Pack Scheduled event; we highly recommend it for all our scouts!  It will be an opportunity for them to earn several badges and requirements specific to their den.  Additional information and a registration sheet can be found through the following link.  http://www.centralnccouncilbsa.com/CS%20Advancement%20Day%2011-14-09.pdf Please send all forms and payment directly to the Council office.

Indian Trail Christmas Parade

The Indian Trail Christmas Parade is scheduled for 2pm on Sunday, November 29th- Rain or Shine.  Anthony has already obtained confirmation for a trailer that can be used for our float.  However, we need a FLOAT COMMITTEE CHAIR to make this happen.  If you would like to volunteer for this position – please see Amy or Anthony as soon as possible.

Camping at Belk Scout Camp

Mark your calendar now – our next camping trip will be November 20-22 at Belk Scout Camp.  With our unusual schedule for Veteran’s Day it only leaves us the 17th for registration and payment.  Scouts are covered by the pack; other fees will be noted on the sign up sheet.  Below are links to the camp website, a camp map and directions.

Outdoor Games and Camping at Barnhardt

Guess what?!  It is also time to sign up for our December 4-6th camping trip which is Outdoor Games at Camp Barnhardt.  As I just realized looking at the schedule below – we are not meeting the 24th (due to Thanksgiving) which is our deadline for registration for this event.  Therefore; we also only will have the 17th to sign up for this camping trip, as well!  If you are interested in being able to participate in BB Guns, Archery, Canoeing, etc – this is the camping trip for you!  Below are links for this event.
