The Weekly Newsletter of Cub Scout Pack 97

June 15, 2010

Carowinds Update

Saturday, June 26th at 9:30am

Unfortunately, we did not have enough participants sign up to qualify us for the Group Pricing Discount. I know that Jackie & I both still plan to go with our families and encourage the other 2 families who signed up (as well as anyone who might have a change of plans before then) to purchase your tickets online and meet us there! Though we will not need to meet to distribute tickets - we will probably still plan to meet either in the morning or at lunch to touch base.

You will need to purchase your own tickets - either at the gate or online. I know I have also heard Bojangles advertising coupons off gate pricing and that Harris Teeter sells tickets, too. If you find an offer better than one of those listed below - please let me know and I'll pass it on.

The gate price of tickets for taller than 48" is: $49.99

The online price of tickets for taller than 48" is $39.99

The gate or online price of tickets for under 48" is: $22.99

Cub Scout Day Camp

Hope the boys attending had a great first day and will have an even better week! Please send me an email if your scout is attending camp so that I can enter it into our pack and summer records.

Roundup & Parents Meeting

The Roundup date is determined by council.  Roundup is the day where the District and/or Council Members for the BSA go into the schools and make a presentation to all the boys and parents interested in learning more about scouting and/or joining a pack.  We will not know the date until sometimes the day before it happens – though will let you all know as soon as we have a date confirmed.  Typically, the week after the Roundup at Shiloh is the week we hold our Parent Information meeting to meet new families, go over any new policies, review the new calendar and recruit volunteers to serve as leaders and committee members.  Based on the last 2 years – I would anticipate the Roundup occurring either August 17th, 24th or 31st.

Other Summer Activities

These are other activities in the area over the next few months that did not fit into our Pack Schedule – but that we thought you might like information on.
